The Quaint hamlet of Pringle Bay is a tourists dream with numerous restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets and art studios to browse and all a mere 29 km from Gordon's bay, Pringle Bay is an isolated stretch of paradise where nature and tranquillity are enjoyed and nurtured by its many creative inhabitants.
.
Located along the dramatic Clarence Drive, tipped as one of the most scenic drives in the world, the area is rich in biological diversity, where Khoisan Standlopers fished from rocky shores and runaway slaves and “drosters” took refuge in the caves carved by wind and sea.

This small coastal town of situated at the foot of Hangklip, on the opposite side of False Bay from Cape Point. The town and surrounds are part of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO Heritage Site. Many of the houses in the small community are only used as holiday houses by their owners.  The town is safe, and family friendly and is home to a number of restaurants and curio shops which serve locals, holiday-makers and passers-by.
.
Here the creative spirit is very much alive and there is access to surfing, scuba diving, angling, golfing and boating.
Some great restaurants are available. From pizza and Italiano to fine dining and succulent seafood as well as a great deli to purchase some luxury foods, ready made meals and great wine.
.
Archaeological evidence of the original inhabitants, the Khoi Khoi people, can still be seen. In the 18th century the mountain caves were the refuge of runaway slaves and during World War Two there was a radar station on the slopes of Hangklip. The Hangklip Hotel building was the barracks of the women who manned the radar. Local folk lore has many tales of shipwrecks, pirates and cattle-thieves too. Hangklip was formerly known as 'Cabo Falso' (the 'false cape') because its resemblance to Cape Point sometimes prompted sailors from the east to turn north earlier than they should have done.
.
Here people come to dive for crayfish and fish from the rocks, sunbathe in the safe bay or stroll through the small Fynbos reserve. The view of the Cape Peninsula across False Bay, particularly at sunset, is spectacular.
